My name is Doug Gargan.  I was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised on Long Island.  I am married with three adult children, who have provided my wife and me with nine wonderful grandchildren. Ohio Dominican College is where I received a B.A. in business administration.  One year in the work force led me back to college at Franklin University for an accounting degree.  For 35 years, I have worked as an accountant for small-to Fortune 500-sized companies.

For over 25 years I have prepared Income Tax Returns for individuals, small businesses and corporations.  I am a member of the IMA (Institute for Management Accountants) where 65,000 accountants join forces to stay current in the business world.   I have recently joined the Accountants Society of Virginia to help me stay on the cutting edge of changes in the accounting and tax world. In addition, I am a RTRP (Registered Tax Return Preparer) with the IRS.

My mission statement is simply “to help people” by relieving their tax burden so they can do what they do best.
